What data elban.co collects and why.

elban.co is a small personal site with reference content on tarot, Cardcaptor Sakura's Clow Cards, the I Ching, and lottery number generators. It also hosts a private, invite-only calorie tracker at /railroad/ for a small set of family members.

What we collect on the public site

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage — pageviews, referrers, approximate location (country / region), device type, and how long people stay on a page. This data is anonymized by Google (last IP octet dropped) and is used only to understand which content is worth expanding.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that expire in about two years. No third-party ad networks, retargeting pixels, or personal identifiers are used.

The lottery number generators and the I Ching yarrow-stalk reading run entirely in your browser. No inputs, generated numbers, or readings are ever sent to a server.

The Railroad tracker (private)

The tracker at /railroad/ is separate. Accounts are created manually by the admin and there is no public signup. Analytics are not collected in this section.

Logged-in users' data — profile, weight log, food entries, exercise entries, meal windows, sessions — is stored in a Supabase Postgres database with row-level security so each user can only see and modify their own rows. Food search queries are proxied through a Supabase Edge Function to the USDA FoodData Central API; the queries are not stored.

Opting out of analytics

You can block Google Analytics with any content-blocking extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Ghostery), Brave's built-in Shields, Safari's Intelligent Tracking Prevention, or by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Data requests

elban.co doesn't ask for or store any personally identifying information about visitors on the public site. Railroad users can request account and data deletion via the admin.
